We love our animals so, even though they do eventually enter the food chain, we aim to ensure that even this is as stress-free as possible. Unfortunately our two local abattoirs have closed down in the past two years but we have found a good family abattoir a bit further away. They transport the carcasses to a local butcher who hangs and butchers the beef ready for sale. Our beef is matured for 28 days to ensure flavour and tenderness; our lamb is hung for at least 7 days to mature and enhance the delicate flavour.
Most of our meat is sold direct to the consumer, ready-packed in boxes so it can go straight into your freezer on delivery; we also supply local restaurants, pubs and butchers. This year’s lambs have been much praised by two butchers, one who butchered for us and one who we also sell to; the former said it was the best lamb he’d seen this year and the latter has said he will buy as many as we can let him have!
Because of the seasonality of our business, we do not always have beef or lamb to sell, but if you are interested in purchasing, please contact us by email (office@briarland.co.uk) or telephone (01869 337636) for availability. Our beef is available most of the year and our lamb from late summer to late autumn.
Delivery is free within a 15 mile radius of Nether Worton OX7, or for orders over £100 within central London, otherwise £8 per box delivery.
